A few truths about YouTube photography channels

YouTube channels dedicated to photography and videography are big business, with some creations boasting hundreds of thousands or even millions of subscribers. There’s a lot of money floating around, and as such there can be a lot of controversy about what may or may not be happening behind the scenes. This stunning video features one of photography’s greatest YouTubers pulling back the curtain and revealing some insightful truths about the industry.

Coming from Taylor Jackson, this excellent video is all about what goes on behind the scenes in the photo industry. I have to admit that I sometimes laugh when I see a comment accusing Fstoppers of being paid by a brand to surreptitiously give good reviews of their products. We have a very strict policy of providing fair and honest reviews; after all, without your reputation, you are nothing. If a company wants special consideration for a product, they pay for the sponsored content, and it’s clearly marked as such under FTC rules, and even then we advocate honesty and fairness. content accuracy. Of course, it’s important to note that yes, there are people who can try to bend ethics and rules when it comes to this stuff, but I can also tell you that most creatives that you’ll find in the space are honest, (extremely) hard-working people who take great pride in both their product and their honesty. Watch the video above for Jackson’s full recap.
