ARIA’s Favorite Tones and I Named YouTube’s Rising Artist

Ahead of ARIA 2019, where she’s set for eight gongs, Tones And I was added to YouTube’s Artist on the Rise schedule.

She is the first Australian to receive this honour, joining names such as Maggie Rogers, DaBaby, Rosalia and Jessie Reyez.

“The program promotes a diverse range of music’s most important new voices across all genres, connecting them with fans around the world through product promotion and programming, outdoor, social and fan events. on YouTube Spaces”, explains YouTube on its official blog.

“The Artist on the Rise Trending tab also features three songs per week from up-and-coming artists who are making a significant impact on YouTube.”

Tones And I saw their YouTube channel grow to 636,000 subscribers from just 8,000 July 2019.

His viral hit ‘Dance Monkey’ spent nine weeks at the top YouTube’s Global Music Chart.

“This song is WOW. The video has taken the world by storm and I think we can all now see how Tones and I shine,” said Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube.

“I tried to create my own ‘Dance Monkey’ routine and let’s just say no one’s begging to see me dance just one more time, and I should probably continue being a record executive.

“We’re thrilled to have Tones and I as our first rising Australian artist and be part of what’s to come.”

Tones And I is nominated in eight categories at the 2019 ARIA, including Best Female Artist, Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Pop Release and Song of the Year.

She recently broke the ARIA Singles Chart all-time record for most weeks at No. 1 and made her US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
