The 10 most popular YouTube videos of all time
MTV’s steady and somewhat sad transformation into a channel more widely known for reality TV programming than music seemingly marked the end of the music video era. YouTube changed everything in February 2005. Not only did YouTube’s enormous popularity help revive the visual art form known as music video, but the site quickly became an extremely popular destination for people who are listening to music.
YouTube had become the unassuming king and queen of music streaming in 2015, overtaking industry heavyweights Pandora and Spotify by a significant margin. In fact, in the first half of 2015, around 57% of YouTube reportedly served 135.2 million music streams. YouTube has been a hub for artists to upload music and people upload videos to all kinds of content. Viewers can subscribe to TV channels and companies will post useful videos.
