One channel spent the entire month of July at the top spot on this chart. This channel has also received more views than any other, and it recently celebrated the 200 billionth hit on its main channel.

You might be surprised to learn that the channel in question fell to third place in our latest global ranking.
Cocomelon – nursery rhymes took the top spot in our Global Top 50 for the first time this summer. The American animation producer is now the number one channel in the global and American rankings.
Cocomelon was able to move up from third place after increasing its viewership by 9% week after week. This led him to 622.3 million weekly views, which gave him a slim lead over the world number two. With a massive tour scheduled for the fall, this family programming juggernaut will have a chance to solidify its position at the top of the world.
SET IndiaThe streak of three weeks in a row in first place is over. The Indian hub remains a preferred destination for South Asian television content, as its 614.5 million weekly views can attest. Although the Sony-owned channel will have to settle for second place this week, it should collect 150 million subscribers before the end of the year.
T-series won its first third place in months. The Indian label has not lost its usual rhythm, as it has added another 595.8 million weekly views to its total leader on YouTube. When the T-series drops this low in our Global Top 50, it rarely stays there for long, so expect it to bounce back later in September.
Thanks to a 22% increase in traffic week over week, Like Nastya was able to land at #4 in the Global Top 50 this week. The US-based family vlog, which has Russian roots, recorded 415.8 million weekly views. Oh, and Nastya’s main channel recently hit 100 million subscribers, so it’s been a good few weeks for her.
Sony SA retains its role as the last channel in our global top five. Again it peaked at No. 5. This time it won 385.2 million weekly views.
While none of this week’s top five channels run primarily on YouTube Shorts, it’s a common theme among the Top 50 channels. As has become the norm, more than half of the channels in the global ranking – 29 to be exact – call YouTube Shorts home.
Among this group, the sketch is an often used format. YouTube Shorts sketches typically feature broad acting, short running times, and at least a humorous twist, and this formula has proven both popular and easy to replicate.
The string called SKELETONS makes liberal use of this format, of course. Although many of his hit videos use the term “sketch” loosely, others pack the shock value and laugh it off. I wonder if the channel’s third most-watched clip – with 142 million total views – was inspired by the hot dog finger scenes in Everything everywhere all at once.
I’m not sure where SKITS gets its ideas from, but I know exactly how many hits the channel has had in the past week. He won 227.4 million weekly viewswho was a 12% increase week over weekand he shot in 36th place in the World Top 50. Considering that SKITS only surpassed one billion lifetime YouTube views a week prior, the future could be bright for this sketch comedy destination.
