This week, something unusual happened in our Global Top 50. A channel other than T-Series ranked No. 1 worldwide.

The channel in question closed in on the Indian juggernaut last week before overtaking it in the second full week of May.
Say hello to your new world #1, Like Nastya.
The US-based family channel calls its titular personality the biggest individual creator in YouTube’s family category. Now Nastya can claim that her home channel is the most watched platform in the world. With 804.1 million weekly viewsLike Nastya grew its viewership by 11% week-over-week to claim the top spot in our Global Top 50. No other channel is within 100 million views of this total.
The closest competition for Like Nastya is last week’s world number 1, T-series. There have only been a few weeks this year where the Indian label hasn’t sat atop our global charts, and this is one of them. Series T fell back to No. 2 even though it got 700.2 million weekly views and pushed his lifetime audience above 190 billion. Will this be a simple boost for the tireless music hub, or the first step in an ongoing trend?
There was also a surprise at #3 in our Global Top 50. Bahauddin Dije, a Belgium-based creator who plies his trade on YouTube Shorts, dropped out of the Top 50 to pass all but two other channels. For seven days Dije’s videos resumed 653.3 million weekly viewsand he surpassed three billion lifetime views In the process. He is also the only representative of Belgium in the world Top 50.
Cocomelon – nursery rhymes is back in fourth place this week. For most channels, that would be an all-time high, but for the American kid-friendly animation producer, the placement represents a bit of a crisis. That said, the US-based channel’s audience is still nothing to sniff at. During our last seven-day measurement period, Cocomelon achieved 561.3 million weekly views.
Sony SA finished nearly 200 million views behind Cocomelon, but its seven-day viewership was still high enough to earn it the final spot in our global top five. The Destination for Counted Indian TV Content 373.3 million weekly views during the week that was.
This week’s Global Top 50 channels represent four different continents, but many of YouTube’s biggest players are succeeding in attracting viewers from around the world. This strategy helped propel Vietnam SKY CHANNEL to #10 spot in the world after being ranked 28 a week ago.
In particular, SKY CHANNEL relies on the universal language of comedy. If you want to be funny, all you have to do is take a situation and make it worse – and that’s exactly what happens in this clip. Other elements of SKY CHANNEL’s content use physical comedy that wouldn’t be out of place in an old Marx Brothers movie. After watching the hub’s most popular YouTube Shorts clip, I’ll be sure to watch before I dip my veggies.
With those fast hitters at his disposal (the one embedded above has more 126 million views), SKY CHANNEL has skyrocketed in our rankings. He was Vietnam’s only representative in this week’s World Top 50, and by scoring 314.3 million weekly viewshe increased his traffic by 50% week after week. This type of elevator is worth writing about – this one, however, maybe not.
Here is a breakdown of the 50 most watched channels this week according to their country of origin:
