YouTube Artist Zach ‘ZHC’ Hsieh Unveils Inaugural (Exclusive) NFT Collection

Youtube artist Zach Hsieh is about to throw its hat into the NFT ring today, releasing its first collection of non-fungible tokens – the buzzing business of the day in the creator industry.

Hsieh, known to his 20 million subscribers and 65 million monthly viewers as ZHC, is a particularly apt candidate for the medium given his artistic flair. NFTs are digital collectibles – which usually arrive in the form of digital images, audio or video – that are traded on a blockchain.

NFTs have proven to be a hugely lucrative business for people like Logan Paul, and proponents of NFTs believe they create a decentralized marketplace for creators to sell digital items without platform intermediaries receiving a reduction in revenue or ownership or controlling the distribution of a product .

Hsieh’s first NFT launch is a collection of short dubbed animated videos Critters by ZHC. The collection includes a total of four Hsieh-created characters who frequently populate his content universe: Chignon Chignon, Fayour, Turkey, and Pet (picture below). Adorably colorful characters too form the basis of Hsieh’s product range.

Hsieh sells the collection on Clever Gateway, an NFT marketplace that once hosted sales for a music producer Deadmau5, artist Lyle Owerko, the actor Michael Kagan, and Brazilian MMA fighter Cris Cyborg. In addition to taking advantage of the initial sale, Nifty Gateway allows creators to build into their NFTs the option to receive a discount from any secondary sale, including the ability to specify a percentage. (Nifty Gateway also takes 5% and 30 cents on each secondary sale).

NFTs on Nifty Gateway – including ZHCs – can be purchased by credit or debit card, or with Ethereum. Interested creators can apply to list their NFTs on the platform here.

For ZHC’s first sale, only one Bun Bun will be available, auctioned off to the highest bidder, while Scrunchie and Turkey will be available at a fixed price with limited quantities. Twenty-eight scrunchies will be available, each priced at $1,000, while 53 turkeys will be available at $500 each. All three NFTs will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight, here.

Fayur, for one, will be priced at $1,999 and sold as a five minute open edition — meaning as many products sold within that time will be available forever — starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Hisieh, 22, is a self-taught comic artist and first started his YouTube channel with tutorials and art challenges. He then embarked on the personalization of luxury objects with his art, such as iPhone and Teslas (which he has also gifted to other creators in highly viewed videos, including Charli D’Amelio and addison rae). Additionally, Hsieh incorporates wild acts of philanthropy into his videos, a la MrBeast, and often vlogs with his girlfriend, michelle chin.

“We are very excited to launch Zach’s first set of NFTs and will continue the collection in the future,” Michael Gordon, who directs Hsieh to Night media – and says he first heard about the NFT phenomenon last October – recounts Tubular filter in a report.

Other creators who have pursued NFTs so far include Logan Paul and Elie Daniel.
